Kerberos, Latin for Cerberus, were the original porters as the gatekeepers of Hell in Greek mythology. What better name than that for Wandering Monster’s first porter, a dark ale with a complex malt bill consisting of seven different grains. Light roast up front, a deep caramel, and a touch of chocolate sweetness all packed into a drinkable 5.9% ale.

From the 16.9 fl oz bottle in a sifter via the brewery. This solid little porter
pours a dark muddled brown with a nice head of off white foam that settles to
a thick ring, thin dusty / clumping layer, and sports some nice light lacing. Nose
of dark roasted malts and faint chocolate malts with a hint of coffee, muted but there.
Flavors pack it in with chocolate, subtle coffee, dark roasted malts, subtle grain notes,
and a hint of cream. Mouth feel is medium, smooth, medium light carbonation,
lightly creamy, moderately rich, lightly coating, and finishing with a nice roasted
bitter malt note.
Overall, a SOLID brew from a great little brewery!
Cheers
