Ha that's aweome StonedTrippin' beat me to this review by a few hours. Got exposed to Helper in 2024, once at the Mtn West Trial Academy and then on the drive home after Christmas. I like this brewery. This is my fave of beer of theirs so far.
Pours a nice golden color, ample clarity, 4/5" white head. Good lookin'. The aroma is hoppy for sure, much like an ipa or ipl here, it is definitely hop forward moreso than pilsner malt or lager yeast. Its not the traditional kind, you're getting some proprietary dank down under stuff, possibly even Nelson. I didn't even know it was possible to make a beer with Nelson without proclaiming it on the label. Could be one or more of the other down under dank ones though. Riwaka, Moteuka, maybe Mosaic, you know those boys.
The taste is so nice, super light malt bill, even by 2025 standards. Can't really discern to much in the way of differentiating pilsner malt from 2 row, but its a light amount. Danky citrus, mild tropical and weed notes throughout. Light mouthfeel and a joy to drink all around.

really good stuff again from these guys, who fully have my attention now. they call it a west coast pils, and it is rightly that, but we still do not have that as a category here on BA, so probably closer to this than a czech pils or something, anyway, its lovely beer, lighter than expected, modern on the hops, low on bitterness as these go, bubbly and drinkable and springy, loved it! way cool packaging on this, pretty pour, near clear, very light and bright, with tons of rising bubbles and at least an inch of airy almost belgian looking pure white head, very well refined and charged up, looks great! the nose is great, meyer lemon and lemon grass, clover flowers, blooming and citrusy without as much bitterness apparent as i generally think of in this booming style space, more dry hoppy in this instance, real light and fresh pils malt base, less european, clean and quick, and close to neutral on the lager yeast too, the hops define it but the proportions are nice and this shows as restrained and balanced, unique though too, really appealing, thirst quenching before it ever even hits my lips. flavor is just as nice, early start on the hops and it seems like its going to get intense but the saturation at that level never really comes. awesome freshness here, clean early citrus, more floral in the center, green apple and green table grape flash in, a hint of almost belgian ester for a second, definitely a hop thing here, lightly oily but the beer isnt heavy or long, its light and quick, and its delicious. id love to know what the hops are in this, it presents as rather unique. overall an excellent beer, refreshing and alive, loved it!
