another really solid beer from these guys, love the nitro, no name, just called what it is, which is fine i guess if you want to omit the creative part of the process. the execution is bang on, so no complaints. deep chocolate brown with a high creamy inch and a half of thick nitro foam with great retention, silky smooth the whole way, very well nitrogenated and not super heavy and big bodied, drinkable as these go. the nose, as is so often the case with nitro beer, is understated, soft roast without harshness or bitterness, a high end coffee whisper, charcoal, very dry but i wouldnt quite go irish style on this, although it does lean a little towards that, good minerality, light cocoa character too. the flavor is quite a bit louder, although its saying the same thing as the nose, nice roast without heavy bitterness, chocolate covered espresso beans, light vanilla while staying dryish, light hints of smoke, old wood, and dark soil, nice and earthy with a very slight yeast element bringing it all together. creamy as can be on the palate, a little chocolate and bitter linger, exceptional nitro feel, super drinkable, pleasant with complex food, and a beer i would drink indefinitely. i have been super impressed with helper so far, everything executed so well. this will hit hard for st pattys time this spring!
