gorgeous take on the style, a little maltier in color, reddish and a little cloudy from the tap at the source, but not heavy to drink, its actually hearty and nutritious feeling, the right beer on a hangover i reckon. impressive quality across the board here, these cats are making some really good beer. the yeast, not the malt, is what defines this one, as it should in this style, high toned and real estery, banana and fall spices, but also interestingly enough some apple, like this comes across as a crisp red apple thing to me, which is not normally in a hefe type but i like it, its old worldy and traditional too of course, but it has its own nuance that i like a lot. a little middle sweetness to this as well thats pleasant with the wheat malt, late onset white pepper and clove, light astringency but not into the vinegar realm or anything, a light tannic aspect, dried apricot, earthy wheat, fluffy feeling with good carbonation, and warms up even more fruity and autumnal, some cool minerality too, wet concrete, but clean on the swallow too. great texture to this, lots of flavor, more robust than anticipated, they packed a lot of character into this, great deployment of this yeast and overall another fine specimen from helper! nice with the delicious pizza they sling in here too! well worth a visit.
