Ha I just saw that this beer was reviewed for the first time 9 minutes ago and decided it was time to write my review of said beer consumed on draft while in SLC about 15 months ago. Where was I, that bee place?

Pours yellow, helles in line, its golden and not the highest degree of clarity due to potential "breadiness" that is a slight hallmark of style. But its close. No damage nocturne or something. The aroma is that bready golden waves of grain nationalism (in a good way, not the evil narrative one they keep peddling) in a nose.

Taste keeps pushing the grain edge, mild traditional Saaz like hopping rate giving it that light lemon sourdough hit alongside the bigger grain/2row/pilsner influence. Carbonation seems right in the wheelhouse for style. I've dug some of these breweries in Utah lately, Helper and TF Granary or whatnot especially, seemingly having a good grip on traditional lagers. This is yet another example. Dixie Boy from Alabama is a solid tune.

A rather tidy helles here, nice and clean and low alcohol and easy, but still with the necessary quintessentially german quality to the malts, bright yellow, minimal in body, beautifully carbonated, and indefinitely drinkable, although to me not as compelling as their mexican or japanese lagers, which are good enough to be total game changes in those styles and beyond for me. there is a freshness to this i dont often associate with this style, and a lightness i dont normally get from domestic examples, although it does retain some characteristic middle sweetness, just for a flash, nice water chemistry and drying minerality, very well lagered, and with some flavor, which is where some of its european authenticity comes from, and somewhat light on the hops to my senses but not lacking balance or snap on the finish. this seems to be a showcase of some quality ingredients, especially the malt, i really that is has as much personality as it does without getting into heavy bready and crackery and even dusty more familiar pils malt notes, this is quick as can be, and they have done a nice job with it in this beer. the body is slight and the carbonation is positively rushing, so its a refreshing easy drink with enough quaity and german appeal to also be nerdy a little bit. high attention to detail with all their beers, i have become a huge fan!
