I had this beer on-tap at the brewery in a classic bowtie schooner glass.
Appearance: dark brown hue with a clear body and a finger of creamy ivory foam atop.
Smell: rich caramelly and chocolatey aroma. Perhaps a little on the sweet side, but I like it.
Taste: like the aroma, a little sweet for the style, but there are nice caramel and chocolate notes. There’s also kind of an astringency I could do without, though.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a big, well-integrated carbonation and a surprisingly smooth and rich creaminess. Really good!
Overall: it’s not quite at 100% for me, but it’s pretty solid, and at 4.7% definitely quaffable.
