Banjovial are pioneers of Shanty Grass. Based in Padstow, just across the Camel Estuary from Bluntrock. This collaboration is based on some of the great early modern US pale ales. We're keeping it classic with a healthy dry hop from US Cascade.

A telling and sympathetic rendition of the classic pale ale that many think launched the micro-revolution on the West Coast some four decades ago. (Are we getting that old?)
Banjovial Looks like the classic with its constant bubbles, modest foam; albeit as much blonde as pale. Smells are only slightly above the average for the style; I'd like to see more hop aromatics. Tastes are balanced; much better than many wannabe classics that pile in the hops because they're guessing at how to blend malts. Bluntrock understands balance at an early age. Feel is not quite medium-mouthed in a rich tasting style.
As for the very good Overall Hugs I give Bluntrock, that's a lot for a micro probably only six years old. But I think they deserve it for bringing the micro-revolution to their small corner of Cornwall and for upgrading their plant and process in a sustainable way. Basically, I Hug Good Guys. Cheers !
