A 330ml bottle acquired from a Belgian web shop. The label has a best-before number of 0712 - so presumably that's July 2012? Also features a serious-looking bearded dude in a hat.
Poured into my Duvel tulip. A very hazy amber hue, bordering on opaque (most of the yeast from the bottle ended up in the glass). Produces a massive head of white foam that resembles a giant meringue; this eventually subsides to a surface layer. A tart, fruity aroma - notes of anise, coriander, oranges, spice, earthy yeast and a whiff of alcohol in the background.
Tastes of dry, earthy yeast with a rounded, spicy character. Slightly sour, with notes of anise, coriander, orange peel and booze. A subtle sensation of chillies on the tongue. Mouthfeel is full-bodied, tingly and astringent. Aftertaste of yeast, spice and oranges.
Complex and interesting. The spicy character is more prominent than any other Belgian beer I've tried so far, particularly the anise notes. A tasty blend of flavours - worthy of your time if you come across it.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
