Poured from growler into a dimpled mug. I had the growler filled today at the brewery.
Appearance: medium-dark orange hue with a moderate haze and a finger of frothy ivory foam atop.
Smell: sweet malt with a rather pineapple-ey aroma and notes of stone fruit. Kinda like a hazy aroma profile; it's nice.
Taste: the flavor is less pineapple-ey than the aroma, but there are still notes of it. The light stone fruit is there too, plus a bit of citrus. Bitterness is moderate, and the finish is a bit imbalanced between bitterness and sweetness. Quite decent.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: this is an interesting beer; not marketed as a hazy but it has some definite hazy traits (with all those NZ hops), and a more traditional American IPA bitterness. I think at the very end it could come together more smoothly, but still, there's a good aroma and some good flavors here.
