473 mL can from the LCBO; best before Dec 29 2021 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a cloudy, pinkish-red colour, capped off with more than a finger of smooth, creamy pale pink-tinged head. It seeps away within two minutes or so, soon reduced to a sickly thin collar surrounding an otherwise barren surface - looks good. Raspberry juice on the nose, with hints of lemon and something similar to (but not quite the same as) grapefruit, which I must assume is the yuzu. Smells a little sweet, and not especially sour, with suggestions of strawberry yogurt.
Fruity and palatable - again, it's not very sour at all really, leaning more towards the saccharine side of the spectrum. Hints of lemon and raspberry tartness at the forefront, with grapefruit and lime bringing up the rear. Touches of lemon yogurt and very mild lactic acidity crop up at the finish; tart-sweet into the conclusion, which includes a lovely mix of tangy raspberry and lemony citrus that persists into the aftertaste. Light-medium in body, with moderate carbonation levels that gently brush against the surface of the palate; fluffy & soft mouthfeel, with exceptional drinkability. I could easily drink a few of these in a row - and this is one of those rare fruit beers/fruited sours where I might actually be inclined to do so for real, instead of just in theory.
Final Grade: 3.95, a B+. Ebb & Flow Raspberry Lemon & Yuzu might be one of my favourite Muskoka sours yet. I liked this a little bit more than the (also pretty good) plum/boysenberry version from last year, but in all fairness, I am a sucker for raspberry lemonade in general, so your mileage may vary. This probably won't blow your mind, and I honestly think it's a touch too sweet... but it's still well worth a spin if you have any appreciation for raspberry and/or citrus-focused fruit sours.
