Pours a hazy gold colour, with a thick nice head but has pieces of sediment floating around in it. Not much but I can see it when I peer through the glass. Bitter with citrus notes on the smell. The taste is crisp and bitter and hoppy. Nicely carbonated

Tallboy can from the LCBO, one of three new brews in their IPA Mixer six-pack; best before Dec 5 2021 and served barely chilled.

Pours a lightly fogged golden-yellow colour, its body marred with countless flecks of sediment; it's briefly topped with one finger of soapy, frothy white head that lasts for little more than a minute or two. A thin collar and filmy cap of suds are left behind, with a modest swath of lace strewn across the glass, too - looks fine to me. As for the nose, I'm getting orange, grapefruit, passion fruit and berries, with hints of earthy hops and pine needles.

A flavourful little pale ale - still getting passion fruit and berries, with hints of mandarin orange, grapefruit and melon as well. Suggestions of bready pale malts and honeyed sweetness underneath, concluding with a mildly resiny, earthy bitterness that precedes a short/sweet fruity aftertaste that includes citrus and stone fruit. Medium in body, with moderate carbonation that feels prickly and crisp on the tongue, contributing to the brew's smooth, pleasurable mouthfeel. Great drinkability - towards the bottom of the glass, I was lamenting the fact that I didn't have another can.

Final Grade: 4.01, an A-. Hazy Pale Ale isn't the most creatively named beer in Muskoka's portfolio, but I liked it quite a bit. Not a lot of malt presence, which is at least somewhat disappointing for an APA, and also not at all surprising as far as 'hazy' pale ales go. Its hop aromas and flavours are 'tried and true', in that they're not especially unique (Citra and Simcoe in particular are very common these days), but effective and enticing nonetheless. This is at least on par with their Mad Tom beers, and I'm 95% sure I'd take it over their Hazed and Confused. also included in this variety pack.

473 ml can served cold into a pint glass. Part of the new Muskoka IPA 6 pack.

Appearance - Hazy rich golden color with peach highlights. A finger plus of dense white head and lots of lacing.

Smell - Lots of citrus, orange and grapefruit are prominent with some pine needles for good measure. Maybe some stone fruit as well.

Taste - Light citrusy flavor some passionfruit, and orange with hints of grapefruit. Pretty decent intensity too.

Mouthfeel - Smooth, medium body with good carbonation. Drinks like 4.6% ABV rather than 5.6% ABV.

Overall - Very solid and enjoyable pale ale that mixes nicely in this high quality and reasonably affordable 6 pack.
