Pours the colour of 5 Alive. Thick creamy head. Tropical fruit, guava and passionfruit in particular on the nose. The taste adds a hoppy bitterness that combines well with the tropical fruit. Mouthfeel is nicely bubbly

Tallboy can from the LCBO, one of three new brews in their IPA Mixer six-pack; best before Dec 6 2021 and served barely chilled.
Pours hazy and turbid with a fair bit of flaky, clumpy sediment strewn throughout its body; it's crowned with nearly two fingers of fluffy, soapy white head that collapses within three or four minutes. A frothy collar is left encircling a filmy cap, with a small amount of lace splashed about in its wake. Aromatic and juicy on the nose, with lots of pineapple and guava, as well as suggestions of ripe peach, orange juice and grapefruit.
Very fruity, with the guava popping right off the bat - there're hints of wheaty, crackery pale malt sweetness too, but it's the fruit and to a lesser extent the hops that jointly dominate here. I'm getting pineapple, grapefruit, mango and orange, with the guava remaining potent throughout the sip; it finishes with hints of pithy bitterness, preceding a citrusy, tropical fruity aftertaste that lingers on the palate for a moment or two. Medium in body, with a juicy, fluffy-soft texture punctuated by relatively low carbonation; it's palatable and easy to toss back, and mostly satisfying to do so.
Final Grade: 3.81, a B+. Muskoka's Tropical IPA was much more 'tropical' than their recent Seanic Route Tropical IPA, that's for sure. This one was about 80% fruit beer / 20% IPA, whereas Seanic was more like 90% IPA, with the 'tropical' aspects being an afterthought at best. Personally, I'm not in love with either one of them, but I wouldn't dissuade others from giving them a go. If you're looking specifically for a fruity pale ale with pineapple or guava, this one is well worth your time... but as someone with no particular love for tropical fruit beers, it's not something I see myself returning to frequently.

473 ml can served cold into snifter. Part of the mixed 6 Ipa pack from Muskoka.
Review from notes.
Appearance- hazy, turbid beer with some sediment plus a big two finger white head. Lots of lacing and excellent head retention.
Smell - pineapple and guava, suggestions of peach and traces of grapefruit. Pretty intense nose. Very tropical.
Taste - guava, pineapple and candied citrus fruits some some bitterness from grapefruit in behind. Pretty well put together.
Mouthfeel - medium bodied, soft carbonation with a tiny bit of astringency at the end.
Overall- rather good IPA with great first impressions and a worthwhile addition to this mixed pack.
