had higher hopes for this place, other breweries we hit all recommended it, but i didnt love either of the beers i had in here, all quite amateurish, flawed in what seemed like easily preventable ways, but this was the better of the two, a somewhat soapy and weird fermentation profile rather than old world bready english yeast, which kind of killed it for me, some late onset astringency to it as well, something that definitely needs some fine tuning, but the foundation seems solid, nice amber color to it, both some earthy nuttiness and also some richer sweetness in aroma and flavor, and through the whack ferment seems fresh and pleasant. lower alcohol posted than what is listed here, suggesting this already might be a second or even third batch, which is troubling. the hops are herbal and well out of the way to my senses, but they do keep it balanced and relatively authentic, but on the whole the quality is poor, and this reads like early homebrew, not like something professionally designed and made, which was a shame. i love english beer and would love to see a resurgence of them in the states, but this type of execution is not doing that mission any favors, and it was a tough pint to finish. the issues seem entirely in fermentation to me. cool to check the place out, but this was a miss in terms of beer quality, they have some work to do...
