Brown with red highlights with a two finger cherry wood head. Nose of cherry, cocoa, and hint of wood. Taste starts off tart/sour fresh cherry moving into a nutty & roasted maltiness finishing tart and slightly bitter chocolate. Like a baby Rodenbach but the awesome central Otago cherries and reduction in sulphuric notes make this much easier to drink.

This poured a dark pink in colour with one finger of pinkish head.

Cherry, cherry, cherry on both the nose and the palate.

The wonderful thing about this beer is how well the flavours are integrated and it does not have an over the top sweetness which can sometimes be a problem with these beers. Quite easy drinking.

it would go great with dessert.

Vintage 2008

Pours a brown-red in colour with a massive white head that persists well with some nice lacing.

Sour cherry aroma dominates with some strong chocolate and spice notes as well.

Amazingly choco/cherry palate - think Cherry Ripe - that has a slight cherry tartness on top of chocolate, ginger and other spices. Strong chocolate and nutty aftertaste.

Creamy and very luscious mouthfeel. Balanced and as quality as always with Emersons.

Good effort and something out of left field for these guys. Enjoyed and may try one of two in the cellar. If anything it could drop a little sweetness and add some sourness.
