Having this beer on tap at the brewery. This beer draws a clear, dark amber/copper color with a just slightly off white head that’s about half an inch thick when first drawn and served. Add tassels to a nice film layer of surface phone along with a thick ring wining the inside of the glass at the beer’s surface. Aromas of some toasted, bready malts with hints of caramel sweetness with some earthy, floral hops. Also a bit of toasted nuttiness. The taste is pretty much the same, with a somewhat toasted, bready, caramel malt sweetness that gives way to an earthy, somewhat floral hop bitterness and a bit of toasted nuts. Unsalted peanuts and walnuts. Good balance of flavors, but the bitterness and nuttiness certainly lingers on my palate after each sip. Has a crisp, slightly prickly, yet smooth and frothy, medium bodies mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Has a smooth clean finish. A good representation of the style.
