they are making some quality lagers in here already, i was impressed with this place, and while this might be a little light for those who prefer the truly old world takes on the style, the quality cannot be debated, and thats cool for a brand new brewery i reckon. i like this being real low in alcohol too, a lot of craft pils types seem to be creeping up north of 6% abv, so this being down in the true session range is nice, a lot of their beers felt moderate in that regard which is cool. really light beer here, super pale see through yellow with a decently high and very long lasting white head from the tap and lots of frantic carbonation, looks lively and nicely refined. the nose and taste are about the same, a little more breadiness to the grain in the nose, cleaner and more mineral forward in the flavor, but its real close. nice proportions, noble hops seem obvious but i get some lemony character too in the hop profile, which is all on the back end. real fresh on the grain and yeast side too, this is very bright and tidy. the lagering is nice, its crisp and refreshing to drink, without as much yeast character as the imports, but not totally neutral either, and with quite a bit more overall flavor than the light color indicates. very lively feeling, awesome carbonation even sort of creamy drinking it through the tall head. very good overall, perhaps technically speaking their best beer so far. looking forward to my next pull of this, these guys are way ahead of the curve here in the early going...

Taster flight at Berts. Golden pour, clear, thin white foamy head. Aroma and taste are sweet, clean and grainy, white bread. Super smooth, easy drinker.
