From a 4-pack picked up at Safeway in Coeur d'Alene, ID; first experience with Bert's
16oz can poured into a Sisu IPA-style glass
P brilliant clear pale gold w/ a 1-2f white head; light-med act carb; med-heavy lace down 2/3 sides of the glass
N med to med-bold lightly sweet sharp juicy orange and tropical notes; passionfruit; inviting
T clean, vibrant, and juicy; orange, grapefruit tropical character, and passionfruit; crackery malt supports; maybe a bit of grape skin in there as well
Mf light-med bodied w/ high carb; crisp; clean
O a flavorful and mega drinkable west coast IPA; really well-executed, imo

New brewery for me; 16oz can pours clear and golden into a snifter, with lower carbonation and a soapy white head. Simple aromas, clean and fresh - some pine, minor grapefruit, touch of earthy notes and maybe a spice profile along with a bready, doughy undertone. Totally crushable palate, touch of sweetness hinting at some crystal malt, the balanced palate provides some pine and resin as well as some simple citrus pith, this is clean, crisp and crushable from start to finish. Drinks like its somewhere between a Pale and an IPA. Well-executed! Look forward to seeing what else Bert's can do.

clean, light, professional, drinks as much like a pale ale as a classic ipa, a shade of golden, nice and clear like most of the beer in here, sporty inch of white head from the faucet, looks good in the glass, and the aroma and flavor are exceedingly simple, pale two row barley, maybe a light pinch of crystal malt, fresh but basic, and the hops are northwestern and mix bitter citrus with fresh pine, seriously, nothing exotic in the least, a little woodsy but not crazy botanical or fruity or anything, without oily dankness, and offering only moderate bitterness. its not quite in the session range as we know it, but clearly this was designed to be a crowd pleasing repeatable pint, which seems like how they roll in here, everything has a similar lightness and tidiness about it, not complaining at all, these are elegant showcases of quality most of the time, and here i do not wish for more. not as modern on the hop side as it could be, there is a now familiar house yeast note to it, and i get some lemon and navel orange as it warms. solid and effortless, good carbonation, lighter medium body, if this ever makes it to cans i suspect it will do quite well for them. good effort, the less is more approach pays off here.
edit: update, this has made it to cans, and it slaps, cool looking pints that go down one right after the other, a little more thiol forward to me, an early start and even some intensity to the fruitiness, but its clean overall and stays balanced even with such a light grain profile. ideal ipa for warm weather, really dig this one and am boosting scores slightly now, this is even better than i remember it being...

Taster flight at Berts. Deep golden pour, clear, small soapy white head. Aroma is malty, light hoppy nose. Taste harkens back to the early days of craft beer, hoppy up front with a solid malt backbone.
