this is really good, a maltier style that fully fits in with what they do well, clean, flavorful, simple, well refined, and a lager, which seems to be becoming their specialty. reddish, clear and shiny, frothy tan headed, fills a glass really nicely, on tap at bittercreek, wild that these guys are already selling kegs all over town. a few things i really dig about this one, the light body, its not one of those heavy sweet vienna types, its brisk and tidy and only lighter medium feeling, drier than most. i also really like the yeast, its bready and classic and a major contributor in both flavor and feel, it can be an overlooked or obstructed element in the style at times, but not here, and it adds a lot, fleshes this out, adds complexity on top of a simple grain base. nice caramel and toffee character in the malt but not all sweet and concentrated, and there is a fresh baked warmth to it, really nice. good water chemistry, super clean, even refreshing for a malt forward beer, the overall quality is awesome and its obvious. a top local lager of any persuasion, this really impressed me. lovely with spicy food too! these guys are off to a monster start already...

Taster at Berts. Bright, clear amber, patchy off white head, lacing . Malty aroma, brown bread, toffee. Taste is malty, sweet, caramel. Very flavorful, nice textures, smooth.
