I am shifting gears and delving into a more refreshing beer. It was served in a tulip glass at 42 degrees. The pour created a frothy and airy white two-fingered head with poor retention. The quick dissipation left no lacing on the glass. The color chart is around SRM 4, golden yellow with straw hues. The clarity is brilliant, with some lively carbonation bubbles. It is an unusual-looking beer. The color does not follow the guidelines I posted earlier, but it is close enough, except it looks like it has something to skew the color from yellow.
Nosing the glass, I smell bananas, cloves, and lightly toasted malts; the typical Belgian aromas are not as strong as they would be in other beers. The beer has pleasant hop aromas of floral blossom, passion fruit, pineapple, taint of onion, herbal, and melon. The malt profile is light, with crackers, toasted malts, and light bread. I noticed a sweetness in the beer, but it does not come across as malty; it is somewhat cleaner. Lastly, I perceived a yeasty phenolic note.
This beer has an odd flavor I have yet to encounter: dominates. I am trying my best to describe it; it is metallic yet pharmaceutical, but minerally. I thought I would get banana and clove, but that is an afterthought. The hop flavors are pungent, with floral blossoms, herbs, and grapefruit. The malt profile is light with crackers.
The mouthfeel is astringent, tannic, and dry. The body is light, and the carbonation is high.
If the aromas translated to the taste, this would have been a tasty beer, but the flavors are odd and unpleasant. I am not a fan of this beer.

a collaboration with loose screw and a solid beer in a fun style, neat they took this on together. a belgian table type golden ale, very easy drinking and well refined, not too much yeastiness dominating, not overly hoppy or anything, a mellow drink that hits just right for springtime. blonde and clear, high sparkle, lasting half inch of white head after its settled, looks peppy and delicious. it smells floral and easy, elderflower, clover honey, and neat minerality, super light on the grain side, some citrusy hops in play, light spiciness to the yeast but its relaxed in a really appealing way, i wish beer like this was more common. its very easy drinking, mild in flavor and with a real late climax, belgian yeast does not dominate, instead its a honey note from the malt along with vibrant hops, some light white pepper from the yeast, and an abrupt, thirst quenching back end. its not funky in any way, but has enough intrigue to almost feel old worldy on the ferment, a tough place to get to with a beer like this, so well done on that. carbonation is awesome, a bit if late bitterness keeps it crisp, and the overall quality is great, berts so often nails it, and has done it again. this will be a great one for the warmer months, one part saison, one part belgian golden, im into it!

Pour at Beer + Friends. Cloudy golden pour, white foamy head. Light yeasty aroma with some bready malts. Taste is biscuity, grassy with a subtle yeasty edge
