not bad, but definitely not up to their high standard, this is yeasty and heavy, beyond what the style asks for. its also sterile to me, like the yeast is so familiar, so samey, so generic estery, for this to taste like it does and hit, the overall quality and refinement have to be way better, which is an uncommon critique of the beers made here, usually so dialed in. this one looks dull and majorly sedimented, nice frothy white head though, but this is thick for what it is. the aroma and flavor are pushing phenolic, like this is run at the upper limit of where the yeast thrives in terms of temperature, white pepper, clove, brown banana, and raw earthen wheat. faintly soapy, but also nice wrinkles of lemon and lemon meringue in it, grainy too, off dry, and a bit long on the palate, slightly chemical as it warms up. this could use some tweaks, im sure its a batch one thing for them, a little less residual gunk in here would be good, a cooler ferment, maybe a mix of yeasts. i want these to be airy and easy, and this one was a little laborious. perhaps their weakest offering at the moment...
