my wife walked in an ordered this on a hundred degree day and just started crushing it, what a legend! the first few sips of this new penny copper colored clear brew hit hard, piney resinous hops with cooked orange and sticky weedy notes and quite a lot of malt balance, but as it warms its less impressive, an almost belgian ester from someplace, a sweetness that becomes unflattering, and some bitter greenness from the hops, one of their more robust beers to date overall, but not one of their most dialed, although i did enjoy it. some pine and gin character to the aroma, a definite fermented a little too warm or stressed yeast type of thing, more appreciable at temperature, and some oily slickness to it, herbal and fruity at the same time, zesty citrus, and most of that is there in the taste, more grain than the nose shows, almost into the caramel range, warm and kind of wintery complexion overall which makes it extra big feeling in the summertime, even before the alcohol and bitterness both ramp up towards the finish. some lightly metallic minerality too, good hop bite, verdant and fresh, faintly soapy but in a way i find appealing, lots going on in this one and i appreciate it being anything but generic. could use some fine tuning, which isnt often the case for these guys, but its off to a fine start, well named, its a beast!

Taster at Bert's. Golden pour, light white ring of head. Classic hoppy aroma and taste, resiny, pine with some light caramel maltiness. Nothing hazy about this, classic.
