another crisp and clean beer from these guys, everything they do is so refined, even if some of them run together a little but when you go there and session awhile, in isolation, each of these is better than most of what else is available locally, and these guys have skyrocketed to being one of the best breweries in the area already, really impressive liquid right now. bright yellow colored, perfectly clear, and holding an inch of puffy white head from the faucet, looks right on in the glass with a lot of rising carbonation. it smells fresher than most, without that dusty german cereal element, instead its earthy and lightly baked, well refined, mineral forward, and with noble hops riding shotgun, the lager yeast is in the back, but good balance is evident, and this seems crisp and refreshing, almost mouthwatering when i smell it. the flavor is cohesive and quick, lightly floral and then grassy from the hops, less bitter than a lot of them, but not without a little kick on the swallow. love the water chemistry here and overall attention to detail, which is becoming their calling card. the grain is pleasant and simple, the yeast is mild as these go, but old worldy and it seems like long lagered, there is an awesome mouthfeel to this owing in part to the completeness of the ferment. great carbonation, light but not too light to drink, could make a day of these easily. berts is killing it right now!
