for something that didnt exist in the states even as recently as a few years ago, its insane how fast this style has proliferated. everyone and their brother has made one in the last couple seasons, and its no surprise this one is great, this is right in their wheelhouse, and its a very well executed brew, which is what these guys do. a fairly rich looking honey color here, great clarity, and over an inch of airy white foam, looks polished and sparkling. fresh and bready in the nose with light sweetness and a baked warmth, lightly herbal noble hops in there, and the traditional lager yeast properly deployed, nice minerality, clean and easy, familiar and autumnal but light as these generally are too, subtle toffee, honey, and biscuit. the flavor is all the same elements as the nose but to me even more robust and expressive, the grain is awesome in here, still german and distinctive but lighter than in the classic marzen in terms of color, less caramel more honey, slightly floral from the hops with only balancing bitterness, and a familiar yeast profile that brings it together very effectively. its balanced, super fizzy, and lighter medium bodied but almost enriched feeling, so satisfying and sort of healthy to me, soft feeling, so its perfect for volume drinking, hence the unclever name. this might be the best locally made take on this style ive encountered so far, the lager game at berts is something to be reckoned with, straight fire across the board!

Draft at Bert's. Clear golden pour, ring of foam. Malty, biscuity aroma, toffee. Taste is malty, bready, mild sweetness, hint of yeast. Creamy feel. Nice
