another almost overly clean beer from these guys, this one blonde and hoppy, bright and easy, the modern type of west coast, real minimal on the malt side and hop driven without being too bitter, a fresh four seasons type ipa that maybe could become a staple in their lineup. nice shine on this one, airy white head floating on it, golden is all. the nose is herbal to me before fruity, grassy, tea-like, and softly floral, springy and fresh, maybe not super interesting on the hops, preserved lemon and grapefruit pith citrus character in play, a little weedy thing too, a pils type malt base in support, not neutral but dry and light as ipa goes, clean and tidy on the ferment as always from these guys. the flavor has some earlier bitterness but it never really ramps up, definite tea notes and a little maybe dandelion where its herbal and floral and bitter all at once, but the back end late bitterness is limited, and there is room for oily hash, green melon, and even key lime to come out of it, some biscuit and honey from the malt but this is drier overall, nice balance, almost west coast pils to me just without the lager yeast. smart and tidy, light in body, i thought it might be lower in alcohol overall but there is some meat on the bone for how light this drinks. real clean ferment, solid hop profile, nice balance. well named, this has a nice easy pace.
edit: now available in cans, seemed just slightly maltier to me this time and from this format, still super clear and radiant but more brass than gold now, just a bit more structure too, but majorly clean and quick as these go, and i think a wonderfully well refined beer, simple as it is, there is beauty in that. enjoying the range of cans berts has been putting out, this is a layup of a buy, delicious and crowdpleasing.

Draft at Bert's. Clear, golden pour, one finger foamy white head. Aroma is citrusy, grapefruit, faint pineapple. Taste is citrusy, zesty, lively, with bitterness growing as the sip goes on. Well balanced. Damn these guys know how to make beer.
