16oz can from Boise Co-op. Clear amber pour, spotty fine head. Aroma is chocolate chips and pecans. Taste adds some vanilla and cookie dough notes. Pecans stand out the most. Dry finish with no residual flavors.

16oz can pours that expected clear blonde-color, as the can would indicate it would. Vanilla, milk chocolate, cocoa, nuttiness, sweetness, cake batter, cake batter, mild baking spices, medium-bodied, sweet, minorly artificial, not super-well integrated.

they are calling this one a golden pastry stout, but i dont feel right adding a beer like this as a stout on here, and we do not have the golden stout category as an option. this is a collaboration with certified bakery, who rules, and its got serious chocolate chip cookie vibes, a cool recipe and a fun one to share on new years eve. cocoa nibs, vanilla beans, and toasted pecans in this. a nice light amber color to it, richer than blonde but not really red yet, sort of bronze tinted with a short white head from the recently filled crowler. this really isnt the kind of beer i think about with berts, who is always making things so clean and drinkable, this is quite a bit less refined, sweet and not as lively feeling as it could be, more bubbles would help. the aroma is the best part, chocolate chip character for sure from the nibs and vanilla together, nutty with the malt and the pecans together, and warming and sort of fresh baked and desserty overall, rich but not over the top, not really stout-like to me, i thought the point was to add roast character to blonde beer, and this really doesnt have that, but its good anyway. chocolate is lead in the taste, pleasant, the pecan is subtle but its there, seems to add some oils to this and kind of fatten it up a little, maybe oats in play too adding soft body. vanilla is strong and it lingers longest, some light toasted and toffee depth to the malt, hazelnut nuance too, tasty but one glass is plenty for me, desserty and i think true to the mission, but when i think of certified i think of sourdough and this really doesnt have any fermentation intrigue, but it hits the cookie theme effectively no matter what we call the base style. cool to see berts taking some recipe risks, this is entirely new for them. fun stuff.
