basically molson, crisp and tight and yellow and pure in a way where like the water is really good, the real pale barley has some personality, and it doesnt present like an adjunct even though there is a little zizzle of cheapness at the end and as it warms, perhaps a product of the fermentation, but this is otherwise clean and easy, brisk and quenching, light bodied, clear and golden, real fizzy, and i think does best when its ice cold, although it does get a little more crafty and flavorful as it warms, but whatever, i like drinking it fast. its grain driven but thats not to say the hops and yeast are neutral, i get some character from both, lightly crackery and highlighting the minerals to me on the yeast side, snappy and just bittering enough on the hops side, could be noble not really that flavorful to me, maybe trace herbal character there, it all comes together well and the whole to me seems like more than the sum of its parts. the spirited carbonation is as important as anything else in here, and overall its hard not to be impressed with all the easy drinking beers these guys have made so far in their short time on this earth, always something light and easy and of some interest when we visit, this isnt their best, but it scratches an itch i didnt even know i had, credit for that! could rip ten of them...
edit: they are canning this now and the packaging is glorious, makes me like this even more. i still noticed just a tinge of cheapness to this from the can as well, especially next to some higher end pale lagers, but i like its crushability and i think this will do well for them in this format. nice one to have available in the can! improving appearance score slightly, near clear and very very pale, a higher, longer lasting white head from the can than i remember from the draft, quite pretty really.

Draft at Bert's. Bright, clear golden, thin layer of bubbly head. Biscuity, bready aroma. Taste is grainy, fresh baked bread, saltines, sweet which trails off to a dull bitterness that lingers on the palate. Smooth and tasty.
