not as good as their other recent pale the true classic, but a fine pale, a little back end tannic twang here, not one of their cleaner ferments, which is what i know them for across a ton of beers and styles. this has a bit of a copper color, they like their malty pales i suppose, and this has good clarity, a short white head, and some nice shine, like a newish penny. the aroma and flavor both have than astringency, but the hops are fresh and citrusy, maybe a little herbal, while the malt is sweet, toasted, earthy, and fairly hearty, almost an autumnal vibe to this overall, notes of green tea and some definite bitterness as it warms up a little, lots of back and forth between malt and hops, orange peel or lemon peel late, an almost clay-like minerality, lots of bigger bubbles, sort of an aerated and rushing feel and pace to this, lighter in body than it looks and for it being as malt forward as it is. unique in a good way but also a little odd, not quite clean on the ferment, i would not rank this among their best, but not bad and with a lot of personality too.

Draft at Bert's. Golden pour, wispy head. Malty aroma with a hint of bittering hops. Taste is malty and sweet, toffee, with an overall sticky feeling.
