solid, bright, bitter to some extent, a little more robust than a lot of their stuff has been, i think a little more malty than the pacific coast hopway, which has sort of become a flagship, a little bite at the end, a little bit of drying almost astringent character, but tasty beer with nice balance, clean in the way all the berts beer kind of is, somewhat unremarkable on the hop side, but that doesnt mean it isnt good, it is, its just not particularly interesting, doesnt take me anywhere i havent been a ton of times before. clear and sparkling, average white head from the tap, high shine, brassy colored, not reddish or anything but just a bit of visual depth to it, not super pale. the nose and taste are similar, lightly metallic with piney hops, burnt orange peel like in a fancy cocktail, some grapefruit too, middle of the road bitterness but it kind of hits all at once, green pinecone, some oils on the center of the tongue, but its not super intense and i like the grain, bread crusts and earthiness, trace toffee sweetness but its not heavy or long like that, it does hit faintly english in the middle and as it warms, mild sharpness late about when the bitterness kicks up, nice and fresh, appreciably simple really, and light enough in body to be pretty drinkable. nowhere near as good as the pacific coast, but its great to get a bunch of new ones in here lately...

Taster at Bert's. Bright, clear golden pour, wispy head, lacing. Light fruity aroma, citrusy notes. Taste is malty, sweet, citrus, pine. Light on the palate
