Tora! is a good rice lager. It understands the subtleties of rice. However, its Looks and Smells are only slightly above the style's average. (And I finally have drank enough rice lagers to feel I can say that.) The Tastes are better because the sweetness finally finishes nicely dry... which I thought was hard to know unless the brewer really knows rice. Medium-mouthed in a light style.
I'm giving Cal Brewing good Overall Hugs. They are twelve years old and have opened three taprooms in the heart of one of the great brewing centres... so Fall must be good.
