Pours a deep yet clear mahogany body, sporting dark crimson accents and topped with multiple fingers of creamy, beige-hued foam; great head retention leaves a half-finger of frothy cap, a modest collar, and generous array of webby lacing spread around the walls of the glass.
Aroma offers a healthy roast and chocolate malt underscore, with accents of black toast against a taut minerality finding hints of smoke and char throughout; silky toffee and burnt coffee tones mark the closing impressions of the bouquet.
Taste brings a spritzy minerality throughout, accompanying gentle, yeasty undertones and light breadiness; the mid-palate expands with a soft char before embracing tinges of cocoa toward the finish.
Mouthfeel shows a medium-light body and a rounded, moderate-full carbonation, dispersing a soft prickle through an ultra-crisp mid-palate as a paper-dry fade on the back end compliments a subtle bitterness lingering past the swallow.
A barebones dark lager with engaging edges; growing detail emphasizing the gentler aspects of cocoa and roast emerge to a simple yet quaffable conclusion.
