One block from the people-watching and nightclubs on The Malecon, Yambak seems to have cut a good niche for itself. Craft brewing may have a more difficult time in Mexico's really inside distribution network, but PV has several micros. So the tourism market seems to encourage micros. But the best part of the Vibe is this three story gastropub has its top level exposed to the elements and that is where I watched the sunset while drinking my flight of 4 and eating our pizza.
The quality of the brews was not consistent; two were very good, one was good, the 4th OK. (I only reviewed the stout. ) Service was great as I talked for 20 minutes with the manager (who had excellent English.) I gave him lots of advice (improve your IPA's recipe and build a line from that.) Selection could be better as I did not see any competitors' beers on the menu, but as a bar YamBak also had wine and spirits and, of course, tequila.
The pizza was good. The rest of the menu looked good, but tasting is the test.
Of the four brewpubs I went to in PV, YamBak was probably the best.
