A Danish take on kriek, featuring Stevns cherries from Frederiksdal Estate. One-year-old Danish Wild Ale macerated for over a month, then matured in oak foeders, creating deep complexity, rich cherry intensity, and a vibrant balance of acidity and fruit.

Copenhagen 16/3 2025. 75 cl bottle with a cork stopper from A Good Case web-shop. Red and yellow label with small figures climbing a red surface.
Pours opaque murky burgundy with a smal pink head. Quite bubbly. Disappears more or less after half a minute leaving a somber fluid behind. No lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense and uforgiving. Light fruity sweetness. Soon overpowered by a sharp, tart sourness. Whiff of funk. Cherries in abundance. Sharp tart gooseberries and green Apples. A bit of Citrus. Sour cheese and musty cellar.
Medium strong carbonation. Thin, oily lively and tingling texture.
Flavor is fairly intense with a light sweetness followed by a stronger tart sourness. Aftertaste is sour and with no quarter. Lingers for a bit. Finish is dry.
Tart and sour indeed. Them berries might not be fully ripened in the Nordic Climate.
