fresh hop imperial ipa, strata, cool to see hops traveling this far from the fields, and cool to see a bolder take on it, lots of pales and easy ipa types this fall, this one is quite a lot more robust, and it packs some really cool fresh hop fruity nuance into this, i think these guys are making some nice beers. sounds like some high tech and less conventional processes with this one, liquid nitrogen, a long 12 hour infusion, those arent things most breweries do with their fresh cones! it yields a neat brew, sneaky strong, no real heat to this at all, and although its robust in nose and taste, its not intense in a typical imperial way, like its not a permanent palate decision or anything, a well crafted and peppy beer, very enjoyable. its a neat side of strata, recognizable but also kind of southern hemisphere and white winey to me, white coconut, lemongrass, but then also like melon rind and sauvignon blanc, could be some other hops in here in support of the freshies. its ripe and kind of peachy a little bit too, some oils to it but light in body overall for what it is and light in grain complexion, trace honey sweetness in the middle that enhances the fruitiness of the hops, but its not malty in the classic sense, lighter than that for sure. bitterness is middling, its not the part of this that stands out. i like the concentrated fruity hop climax, which feels long and unforced and quite clean and pure, dynamic overall, a neat side of strata too, their process here is a good one. there is good carbonation, a fun fruity recall, and on the whole i thought this was excellent. i am excited to pop back into this place when i am in reno next, hopefully soon, i feel like they have really done some intriguing beers. well done here, this is scary drinkable for how strong it really is, great hop profile, bursting freshness!
