Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium golden amber with a half finger white head that dissipates to a thick cop with solid lacing. Aroma of pale malt, citrus and fruit hops, lemon, grapefruit, mild mixed fruit and a touch of dankness. Flavor is pale malt, citrus and dank hops, grapefruit, yuzu, a little catty dankness, pine and vague mixed fruit. Solid citrus and piney bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A quite nice West Coast leaning IPA with the requisite citrus and pine notes as well as the now popular fruit mix; the latter is a minor component. I've not heard of the Helios and Trident hops used here, but it has an inviting and well balanced flavor profile that I liked quite a lot. I still have a pale ale from this brewery and am looking forward to it, sorry I missed the spruce tip version which is a variant I enjoy.
