Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a very hazy, medium orange/gold with a two finger white head with good retention and nice lacing. Aroma of pale malt, tropical fruit and citrus hops, mango, pineapple, orange and a little melon. Flavor is pale malt, tropical and citrus hops, pineapple, grapefruit, mango and orange. Light to moderate bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A solid tropical fruit forward New England style IPA. Grapefruit develops into the finish, but most of the taste is fresh and over-ripe tropical fruits and a hint of orange. Interestingly, this sessionish IPA has more flavor depth than the somewhat higher ABV Alpaca I had a few days ago. Not my style, but has enough bitterness to keep my interest, which is a plus for hazies in my book. Quite juicy.

I had this beer on-tap at the brewery in a frosty mug.

Appearance: light golden hue with lots of haze and a finger of pillowy ivory foam.

Smell: lightly sweet and juicy aroma of tropical fruits and a bit of citrus as well. I really like the composition, but the volume could be higher.

Taste: sweetish malt with a very nice tropical fruit and grapefruity hop character. As in the aroma, I’d like a bit more intensity of flavor, but otherwise I like it … it’s impressive for a 4.5% beer.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.

Overall: a pretty solid hazy IPA, particularly for a session-strength beer. I’d order this again.
