Purchased at Bound Beverage, Warrington, PA. $13.99/6pk, 12oz cans
Pours a deep, dark brown. Totally opaque. A long lasting, dense tan colored head. Thick lacing left on the sides of the glass.
Aromas of coffee.
A nice tasting porter with flavors of dark roasted coffee, roasted malts and semi-sweet chocolate. Dry, bitter aftertaste. ABV is not noticeable.
Smoother consistency, medium carbonation.
Overall, a well done and very tasty porter. The addition of the coffee makes this even better...cheers!

Poured into a wide mouth, grip shaped goblet: color is dark brown, head is tan and presents with fine to small bubbles at a two finger depth, head lingers well with solid top and spotty lacing.
Smell is light roasted coffee, light chocolate malt, toast, roast, earthy hops.
Taste is more light roasted coffee, light cocoa, light toast and roasted malt, earth and light bitterness.
Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, moderate bitterness.
Overall a solid coffee porter - coffee flavor is light but forward, porter base is notable and not 'stout-like'.

The clear pint glass was just about completely filled by its visit to a tap handle. Not surprisingly, the brew is solidly black coffee brown with a tan fringe as its head. It smells like a coffee porter, malty and roasted, with black coffee notes. It also tastes as it should. The expected bitterness from the roasting of malt and coffee is just right. There's plenty of flavor and no extra bitterness. Its finish is clean and notably dry. Although there's some glass lacing, this wouldn't be considered full bodied, although that's not necessary to make this an enjoyable pint of beer. With a reasonable ABV, this could be a go to whenever the taste for a coffee porter arises.

12oz can purchased from the fridge as a single for $2.75. "BEAN JUICE 12/26/23", so this beer is just over a month old. I only chilled this for a short time in my fridge.
Look: Pours out a very dark brown color with a dark tan-colored head with small bubbles that dissipated pretty quickly.
Smell: The aroma is very roasty and there is a strong coffee roast aroma. There are nice nutty and chocolatey aromas also. There is also an oily, earthy hop aroma. It smells nice.
Taste: Mmm, this is tasty. It is definitely coffee-forward and it has lively carbonation. There is a significant amount of astringent character here. My criticism of the flavor here is that it is a bit one-dimensional and definitely coffee-dominant. There is a bit more depth as I get into it - nutty, chocolatey notes as well as earthy, oily hop notes.
Feel: The mouthfeel is on the lighter side of medium body and there is a bit of oiliness. Relatively high carbonation.
Overall: It's an interesting coffee porter. If you like coffee, I think that it's worth a shot. Personally, there are some other coffee beers that I prefer as I find them to have more depth and balance.
From the can:
Style: Coffee Porter
Hops: Chinook, Centennial, Cascade, Tettnang
Malts: 2-Row, Munich II, Caraaroma, Brown, Carafa I, Crystal, Oats
Adjuncts: Proprietary Coffee Blend Roasted at Revolution Coffee Roasters, Triangle Roasters Cacao Nibs

Purchased as part of a 6 pack of 12 oz cans on 10/21/23.
L- Pitch black. Very dark for a porter.
S- Robust coffee aroma with dark
roasted malt.
T- Big coffee flavor upfront but nicely
balanced with some sweet malt.
F- Tannic “pucker “ but gives way to a
moderate mouthfeel with moderate
carbonation.
O- I love porters and this one is fantastic!

Dark brown pour and a significant mocha head that lasts. Nice coffee with a teaspoon of sugar flavor, silky smooth mouthfeel. The malts come through later, delivering chocolate and roast, and a lengthy finish with a wee bit of bite. Very solid, enjoyable effort.

Pours a very dark brown. Mahogany. Smell is off sweet coffee. Brown sugar. Char. Taste is coffee up front followed by molasses then charred malts. Feel is super fluffy and huge yet dissipates quickly and is not cloying.
The overall best in style I’ve had thus far.

(16 oz standard non-nitro pour into Euro pint at the brewery)
dark brown liquid, decent clarity; creamy froth cap... good bit of nutty med-dark roast and brown sugar on the nose; slightly woody toast... huge coffee-forward pop on the palate; lovely nutty, cookie-ish but not altogether sweetish malt bedrock in its base; bit of roast and burnt caramel in its aftertaste, but otherwise relatively dry... smooth, medium-light bodied, with a mellow roundness; soft glow of alcohol in the finish, lingering through... flavorful, very coffee-heavy dark brown beer, falling neatly in between an American brown and a stout in its malt character (bolstered toward the latter with the techi-brown coffee expressions); local bar near me has this regularly on nitro draft - I'll report back with a compare/contrast (1638)

I left off while drinking a massive Baltic Porter so it seems to stand to reason that I would CANtinue with an AmeriCAN Porter for The CANQuest (tm).
From the CAN: "Beer for Life"; "This porter was brewed in collaboration with Revolution Coffee Roasters and has been lovingly dosed with a blend of coffee beans from Malawi and Ethiopia. Cascade and Centennial Hops flirt with subtle coffee characteristics in this balanced American Porter."; "Proudly brewed in Oaklyn, New Jersey"; "Life Is a Celebration [-] From a quiet hike in nature … to the pulsating thrill of a concert with friends, every moment is an opportunity to LIVE. At Tonewood Brewing[,] we celebrate everything we can and we brew beer for life."
I wanted to join this celebration, so I Crack!ed open the vent on this CAN & beCAN a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. It foamed up beautifully to form two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, light-tan head with very good retention. Color was Dark Brown to Very Dark Brown (SRM = > 27, < 34) with NE-quality clarity & ruby highlights. Nose was a pleasant admixture of coffee, chocolate & roasted malts with a light smokiness to acCANpony the inherent coffee that was used as an adjunct. Mouthfeel was medium-to-full, not quite creamy, but on the approach. The taste remained strong with a coffee/chocolate smokiness that was well within spec for the style. This was a really pleasant and kinda unexpected treat! Finish was semi-dry, but eminently drinkable. I would love this again, especially as it gets colder. YMMV.

Taste is peat, oak, earthy foremost, mildly sweet but also comes off a little dry. It was a very good version of a porter and the wood element, although some wont like it worked fairly well

Sum greater than the parts, this is one of the best porters, better than Anchor, Sierra, Bells, Great Lakes. NJ rocks for craft. My first from brewer, thrilled to be 4th reviewer.
a) Without doubt the best looking as it lofts a creamy, textured tan head that lasts and laces over a bronze tinged black body.
s) The only mark at4. Has the tell tales of coffee, roast, char, and chocolate with hop finale. Better as it warms.
t) I thrill to accompany this with a pasta and bean casserole with veg. Follows smell but with muscle. Smokey, bitter, masculine, flavorful. I'd be in for a case.
f) Clean and drying, no lingering sugar, good weight and carb.
o) Would include in any best of porter's blind tastings. Award winning. Try 24.

Very well done Porter. Great flavors of coffee, malt, smoke and a minor bite of bitterness that worked well for this beer.
