Tonewood Brewing "Samso"
$5/16 oz. on 11/22/17 at the brewery
Notes: 6.3% American farmhouse ale. Clear golden body beneath a bright white head that displays limited head retention and lacing (dirty bar glass?). The aroma is floral and lightly spicy with some sweet grainy malt to round it out. The flavor follows with an apple-like fruitiness and some citrus. A median bitterness leads it to a dry finish. There are no flaws to this beer but at the same time it's just not really exciting. Given the flavor that's there the 6.3% alcohol is unnecessary, it could easily have been more in the 5% range with the same result. Medium-light in body and crisp.
