(16 oz can, 3/30/21, 'Workingman's Beer'; purchased cold 4-pack... poured into a fat tulip)
L: polished-clear, yellow-gold liquid; soapy-silken, exploded-build, off-white foam... suds do not stay long... little lacing... no sediment with final ounces topping up glass after a few sips... the label art I immediately recognized as a riff on my favorite GD album
S: heavily perfumy-floral, hop-forward, with a certain lemon peel supporting note; subtle toasty shortbread malt character pokes out from the background, while light spicy, peppery highlights round out the array of aromas
T: herbal-grassy, lemon oily hops up front, with their zesty, spicy bitterness buzzing through the finish... resinous, spicy-floral aftertaste; relatively dry floor, with a faint hint of lightly-nutty cereal grain... (lemon) peppery pungency builds with each sip
F: light-bodied, but with a mellow, if brief, resinous roundness midway through... moderately carbonated; the punchy hop bitterness and dry, taut finish result in a swift flow, fade-cut drop, and enlivening lingering warmth
O: this was the third can I'd tried, but first today; the first one made little impression, but in these last two, its fine qualities are apparent... kind of hits the spot (1753)

A: Mostly hop-forward aroma with notes of lemon, grass and herbs. Bread notes from the malt. Enjoyable.
S: Pours paler-than-gold in color, not quite straw. This one is also unfiltered but even less haze than Lawn Boi had. Thick, fluffy white head that sticks around for the entire serving. Very good.
T: Unlike with Lawn Boi, this seems to lead with a bit more hops. Herbal hop bitterness, notes of freshly cut grass (probably the Pearle) as well as some very subtle fruity hints of lemon and perhaps starfruit. Sweet malt is there, balancing everything out adding some biscuit notes. Layered hop flavors meet bready malt. Very nice.
M: Crispy. Very dry finish. Drinks much lighter than 5.6% abv.
O: These go down like water on a hot and humid day like today. Typically I am not a fan of trendy nouveau hops like Motueka in a pilsner but I think it works very well here perhaps because it does not overtake the Pearle, just rather compliments it. The Pearle adds that familiar noble hop herbal-ness and the slightly fruity Motueka contributes another facet to an already well-rounded pilsner. I could drink this for months, no problem. Another excellent pils by Tonewood. Great job! 4.2/5.
