"Through Being Cool" is a new American brown ale brewed in collaboration with our great friends The Seed Beer Co.
A few weeks back we hung out and brewed this lil brown ale with Sean, Amanda, and Chris. We spent the day chatting and enjoying some saison, lager, English bitters, and of course listening to one of our favorite albums ?.
We get notes of chocolate brownies, caramel, toffee, and cashew with a nice citrusy pine hop finish. Pairs perfect with these cold shorter days and some hangs around a fire pit.

Dark brown body, clear; fine head, about 1 1/2 fingers thick, semi-creamy and spongy. Smell made up of cocoa and dark grain husks; nutty; a hint of chocolate. Light roasted malt sweetness in the taste; light cocoa and toffee; nice bitterness with a touch of astringency. Medium body; soft and pillowy; semi-sweet overall with a bit more dryness in the finish.
The brewery did a fine job with this ale. Balanced and complex, malt-forward with a nice nutty and chocolate overall flavor with a nice dose of hop bitterness to round things off.
Pouring temperature: 46.4 ℉; canning data: unknown

16oz can served in a stemless wineglass. @jonphisher gave it to me. If there's a date, I don't see it.
Pours dark brown, barely translucent, with a generous head that settles slowly into a one centimeter thick layer with pretty impressive lacing. Smell is super nutty, very light smoke.
Taste is dark roast coffee, again tons of nuttiness, strong grain notes. Still maybe a hint of a smoky characteristic.
Mouthfeel is medium and quite dry. Overall, very nice beer!

Pours a very dark brown, reminds me of like a dark brown tea if held to light. Decent looking initial head, not expected based on head but really nice and substantial lacing all the way down the glass. Thin layer of light brown across the glass.
Aroma is of slightly burnt dark bread, slight coffee and cocoa, earthy piney hops hiding in the background.
Taste is the same mainly the dark bread, coffee like roast flavors, a noticeable but not overdone hoppiness going on.
Light body, nice high end moderate bitterness, lingering roasty aftertaste, soft on the palette and overall super well balanced.
