16oz can served in a footed pilsner glass. Don't see a date on the can. @jonphisher sent it to me.
Pours very dark, almost black, translucent, with a 1 to 1.5 finger head that deflates into a fluffy layer that clings high on the glass. Smell is woodsmoke -- not overwhelming, but quite insistent. Behind it, maybe (*maybe*) some dates and toffee.
Taste is mild woodsmoke, stronger char, moderate grainy sweetness, finishes on bitter char.
Mouthfeel is light and very dry. Overall, very nice beer.

Very dark brown, light brown head, well above average retention and lacing; diminishes second half of session but first half is glorious.
Nose is a pleasant woody smoke followed by a nice chocolate presence, and darkened toasted with some roast.
Very rich in malt flavor, hearty chocolate notes, woodsy smoke and very darkened toast, lightly ashy, perhaps a touch of spicy hops on the finish.
The mouthfeel on this beer is most impressive; for having such rich heavy flavors the body remains light, nice carb bite, smooth, balanced bitterness, very clean.
The smoke on this beer is pleasantly light but still very present; as you get accustomed to it it takes on this very pleasant noticeable background presence to all the delicious malt in this beer. This is a pretty amazing beer to me, it’s so malty rich and yet so light and drinkable; flavor has such great balance too.
