Purchased from Purvis Beer in Melbourne in February 2025 and drunk in June of that year.
L: The beer is a ruddy, muddy mahogany in the glass, with a thick covering of fluffy, dirty-white head. Large bubbles can be seen hurrying up the edge of the glass. The upshot of all of the muddiness and dirty head is that this is not an attractive beer...
S: The nose is malty, woody and creamy. It smells like a Belgian Strong Ale.
T: It's very mild tasting considering the heft of the beer and the ageing on oak. A toffee-malt base lies beneath a layer of vanilla and oak, accompanied by dark red fruits and a soft, chalky note. There's a little bit of warmth, but no hint whatsoever that 10% ABV is hiding in this one. A very dangerous beer!
M: Smooth and full, lightly carbonated and gelling perfectly with the flavour profile.
O: Such a nice beer!
Cheers!

Copenhagen 6/2 2021. 33 cl bottle from Belgisk Bryg, Emdrup Mosevej, Kbh. NV. Painting of grumpy-looking Conquistador-type on the label.
Pours unclear maroon with a red hue. Big off-white, yellow-ish head. Settles as 0,3 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is intense with a sweet, dark, malty odor, dark alcohol and a light fruity tart scent. Toffee, caramel, brown sugar. Plums and raisins. fermented. Liqueur-like sweet boozy whiff.
Medium strong carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is fairly intense with a strong sweetness balanced by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a sweet undertone. Finish is boozy and sweet.
Potent, sweet and boozy without being cloying. Almost brings a Barley wine to mind.

On tap at Mr Brews in Melbourne FL.
This lightly sweet dark ale has a fine beige head over the dark reddish-brown body. It smells rather boozy in a good way (i.e., more fine liqueur than alcohol). Exceptionally balanced flavor with well hidden ABV. The flavor is dominated by notes of toffee and dark dried fruits.
Overall. Heartedly recommended but had dangerously high drinkability.
