Not a great deal to say on this one, pours as you would expect with a Belgian blonde, lovely foaming head two fingers minimum.

Aroma is full of saccharin sweetness, can get too much more.

Taste is similar, artificial sweetness up front, slowly giving way to a irony aftertaste, nice, but not top drawer.

Feel is dry due to that same saccharin back bone.

Overall above average, but date I say it, Leffe, Affligem, Grimbergen are all better.

Pours a hazy golden color with a big top off white head that disolves in a slow pace. Aroma is off citrus, light banana, yeast, corriander and peppercorn. The flavour is medium sweetness with a medium bitterness and some sour notes there as well. It feels a little watery and blend and i also sense a metalic feel inn the finish and the aftertaste.Medium carbonated with a medium body. Mouthfeel is clean and smooth. This is a decent enough blonde ale, but is far more better versions off it out there.

From the bottle, it pours a golden color with a nice head. Malt and some citrus in the nose. The mouth gets the classic Belgian blond with a touch of carbonation. Enjoyable!

Golden colour with a lot of foam head.
Huge citric smell which is very nice in my opinion.
Carbonation is very present in the mouth along with the citric flavour.
Overall, a very tasty beer.

Tastes almost identical to the pale ale 'AMA Bionda' brewed by Amarcord Birra Artigianale Italiana.
A little too carbonated for its own good, but still worth trying.

Bottle in Orval glass. Looks very pale yellow, very clear, almost like clear lemonjuice. Looks really good. Big head that shrinks down to a little layer.

Smell is huge yeast. Some earthiness, and even mushrooms. Also some light fruits.

Taste is better than the smell. Very fresh yeastiness, but with a nice bitterness, and more fruit than on the nose. Some apples and citruspeel. Light acohol. Aftertase is light but pleasant.

Mouth is quite light, medium carbonation, really what you'd expect from the style.

Overall this is good for the style. I love blond beers that are light and fresh but full of flavour, and this is exactly that.

Bought at the Bierparadijs in Meer, Belgium. Poured into an Orval chalice. Straw blond body with lots of carbonation and a massive white head that stabilizes at one finger. Later head reduces to fine layer but leaves an extraordinary lacing. Strong pleasant smell of yeast, cloves and citrus. Starts rather bland but manifests soon in pleasantly bitter taste that fades into a bit annoying metallic aftertaste that almost resembles blood. In my opinion the exactly right amount of carbonation for this type of beer. It tickles on the lips and the tip of the tongue, bubbles burst on the palate and it foams out at the back of the throat. Tremendous. Furthermore, the burpfactor is still relatively low. All in all a very special blonde. Only the taste is a bit of a let down if you are not a Vampire. Will I ever get used to metallic flavors? Well maybe one day...

Poured a beautiful clear golden color with an inch of head into a tulip glass. Good string of carbonation coming from the bottom of the glass.

Faint smell of hops, not too strong.

Taste is also hoppy, with just a hint of sweetness.

Feels good in the mouth, with the carbonation in balance with the beer. Could be a good session beer.

Biere d'Abbaye, 33 cl chubby bottle.

Clear golden colour, good carbonation. Fluffy big head.
Smell and taste are rather sweet. Fruity, floral hops, but a lot of sweet syrup 'n malts dominating the beer.
Aftertaste is pretty long, with a mild alcohol bite.
Leaving it for a few minutes, there's a harshness to it.

Overall, the beer is ok, but nothing too special about it.

Brown 33cl bottle, plenty of life left (05/2010), drank on a cold but dry December afternoon in Shropshire, England.

Poured into one of my Duvel glasses. Poured as a Duvel, trying to get a large head. The head did arrive, but it was made of large bubbles and didn't rise to the glass rim. It fell to less than half an inch as I studied and sniffed for aroma.

Good golden yellow colour, clear and clean, a true straw blonde. The head almost white, but not fully, a light cream colour maybe.

Yeast and hops hit the nose as well as caramel, mixed fruit too.

Fairly dry in the mouth, but with a kick, the 6.5% is very evident at the front and in the aftertaste. Harsher than a Duvel, more acidic and a certain ungraciousness about it.

A headache producing sort of beer?

The more I had, the less I enjoyed it. I had to eat some dry biscuits to help me finish the tasting, so something was wrong (for me anyway).

Beer bottle (33cl), tasted in 2007 (top fermentation)
Appearance: golden color, foam firm and snowy (lacing on the glass), funy little bubbles.
Smell: fruity
Taste and mouthfeel: bodied beer, well balanced.
Drinkability: a good beer in Belgian-style golden ale from the brewery Roman

Review added 11-21-2007, translated from french 3-5-2008.

Bright gold in color with a nice extravagant frothy head and fine sheets of lace that cling to the glass, both an off white color. Malt dominates the nose, citrus crisp, clean and fresh. Start is sweet, the middle wraith like the finish is sparingly acidic, the hops discernable, but just barely, droughty aftertaste, but overall quite “Weak”, and I was disappointed in this beer, expected something more, maybe I expect to much from "ALL" Belgians.
