750ml bottle served in a curvy Monhegan pint glass. Given to me a couple months ago by @shigg85. The date on the back is 2027.07.02, which i would guess is the "best by" date, but I can't read Japanese.
Pours with a huge, lively, uncontrollable head, but very little retention. Hazy, lots of carbonation. Smell is interesting. Fruity, grainy, white grapes, something slightly funky, some obscure fruit that I can picture but can't name.
Taste is stronger on the funk and stronger on the fruit, mango and passionfruit and that same mystery fruit I can't name. Lychee! That's what it reminds me of. Earthy, woody funk, but light. Tartness doesn't quite cover it, but there's something in that direction.
Mouthfeel is very light, fizzy. Interesting and tasty beer. Maybe belongs more in the "wild" category? Enjoyable, in the IPA direction.
Oh wow, pouring out the rest of this bottle, it's white mud. It's a slurry, and carbonated as hell. Fascinating. Funkiness increases. Texture is pulpy.
