Notes: Nostalgic in design and taste. More moderate bitter than malty and sweet, yet overall very smooth. A genuine taste!

Pours a big fizzy bubbly slight pillowy head with fair retention, a little lacing, slight hazy mostly clear bright golden tan color

Nose lots of grainy sweet pilsner malts, grainy bread dough, a hint of cake batter likely due to yeast suspended, layered soft malts, clean lager, mild floral herbal hops

Taste brings lots more bread dough cereal grains, grainy sweet pilsner malt but not a ton of pilsner more lager malt like, batter, raw cereal, soft lager malts and a clean lager, hops bring lighter bitterness and some floral herbal hop characters, dry finish, clean, malts bring mild layering but not a big decoction like layered effect, suspended yeast brings a little creamy cake batter

Mouth is med to lighter bod, soft creamy lager and suspended yeast notes, medium carb

Overall pretty solid zwickel, good lager, nice soft lager and creamy suspended yeast notes, nice hop balance, enjoyable

Notes: Typical hazy, soft golden appearance beneath a frothy head of white. Very good head retention and lacing. Aroma of grainy malt and mild herbal hops. The flavor brings in an additional slightly fruity note. Median bitterness lends it great balance leading to a mainly dry finish with just a bit of malt and hop lingering nicely. Medium bodied and soft and smooth across the tongue.

Slightly hazy pale straw color with frothy white head. Aroma has some sweet, grainy wort notes and some floral hops. Taste has bread, wort, slightly sweet, a bit of bakers yeast, some floral hop bitterness on the finish. Medium body with soft carbonation, feels somehow hearty. Nice example of kellerbier, nails the style quite well.

Bottle. This one wasn't my favorite. Wouldn't categorize this as refreshing or crisp. Tasted very yeasty. I could have a few but I prefer a Zwick with a little bit more cleanliness.

I was looking forward to drinking this beer.
Highly recommended in a craft beer store.

Poured a light apricot-lemon color with a 4F head in a Brooklyn Oktoberfest glass.
Good head retention, the head resolved slowly to 2F.

Excellent aroma. Fruit, lemon.

MF: malty, classic.

Taste: transition from MF well from aroma.Lemon, fruit, finished with an excellent light bitterness.

Overall: I really like this style, and this beer brings out the classic Zwickel style .Very drinkable, well balanced. I'll buy more.

16.9 oz. bottle

Pours cloudy hazy gold with a creamy white foam head. Smells like lemony citrus, honey, rich bready cereal malt, apple, pear, grape skin, sweet spice, with funky floral earthy herbal grassy pine. Tastes like honey, rich bready cereal grain, apple, pear, grape skin, lemony citrus, sweet spice, with floral earthy herbal grassy pine. Feels medium-light bodied, creamy with moderate smooth carbonation. Overall a real nice zwickelbier.

two 11.2 oz. bottles poured into a big mug
(best before 6/16/17 printed on labels of both bottles; beers courtesy of @TongoRad)

L: murky yellow pineapple juice, no amber in it I think; pushes up white head of foam that's very sticky on top, about 3/4-inch tall; keeps a thin skin that blends into a sudsy collar; off the head it looks like it's going to paint the inner wall of the glass as we drink this down ... very classic "beer" beer look

S: dusty peach, dried peach, bread malt; pear juice ... green apple ... kiwi

T: a spicy apricot ... a bit of pepper spice; plenty of bread malt in the background; some butter ... a buttery peach or apricot; almost a grassy hop bite or light green onion tops; at times that malt hits hard and it's like a buttery peach pie; the hops are surprisingly present here, way more than other kellerbier/zwickelbiers I've tried (few as they are), and they almost get earthy but generally stay more spicy, black pepper, white pepper; that apricot/peach flavor could go for pear juice

F: with those spicy hops nipping up front, the carbonation-hop combination gives it a nice sharp bite to start with, then the heft of this midweight smooths everything over and coats your mouth like that head of foam is coating the glass ... fantastic, easy to sip, not hard to chug

O: on the surface Zoller Zwickel could seem a bit simple, but there's all kinds of things going on from stem to stern here ... the aroma notes are subtle and the hops in the flavor are fantastic -- the way they bite and dance with the sweeter malt notes is bordering on perfect; nothing "off" or very little butter aromas or flavors ... a "clean" zwickel with just a hint of that unfiltered yeast presence but only the slightest of hints (mainly in the look); I could drink this by the case ... super tasty

This is definitely on the straightforward side, no left field flavor surprises like you'd see in other Kellerbiers, but very well done nonetheless. Flavorwise and aromawise, it's like a fantastic Helles, lots of bready malt and grassy/spicy hops, maybe some pear juice thrown in as well, all softly blended together. Slight crackeriness comes out on the dry finish. But there's something beguiling going on as well, as a white raisin-like sweetness comes on very late, so although the overall feel is dry, you get a gentle reminder to expect a curveball. And then it hits you- a huge yeasty twang, very nearly tart, sort of white pepper-like, takes over long after what you think is the final snap of the hops. It is so damn quenching and refreshing. You can't help but take it down in large gulps. And after a few more of those, the malt regains its dominance and makes for an extremely pleasant drinking experience.

11.2 oz bottle, best before 6/6/2017.

Pale gold in color. The body is hazy but you can still see your fingers through the other side of the glass. Tall, frothy white head with excellent retention.

Fresh grains in the aroma intially, balanced by some pretty strong lemon and white wine notes. Sweet malt and fruity hop flavor with a lingering hop bitterness in the finish that is not too harsh.

Medium-light bodied with a pleasant, creamy feel. An easy-drinking Zwickel with clean and smooth flavor.

A: The beer is very hazy light yellow in color. It poured with a finger and a half high bright white head that slowly died down, leaving a thin layer of bubbles on the surface and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light aromas of yeast and cracker malts are present in the smell.
T: The taste follows the smell, but the flavors are more pronounced. There are some underlying hints of sweet malts, but these are mostly canceled out by a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: Despite being very malty and yeasty, this beer is very easy to drink.

I was in a grocery store in Chiang Mai and saw this on the shelf. I grabbed it because I'd never seen it before. It was actually quite enjoyable, though it seems like there's not enough beer in the bottle. I guess I'd been drinking a lot of German beers that come in larger bottles prior to this one. It's a good thing, however, to want a little bit more when you get to the bottom. I enjoyed its flavor and it was relatively smooth. Overall a good beer.

Lemony yellow, cloudy brew with average carbonation moving slowly up in the glass, no head really.

Lemony, a hint of must and cellar, apples, malt.

Malt forward, like really malty. A sort of clay like quality as in its earthy but in a clean way. Tasting corn as well. Clean linen.

Slightly thick body with average to low amount of frothy carbonation.

Found in Rimping, Chiang Mai, and drank here Sept 10th, 2015. I was excited to find a Zwickel. It was inexpensive for an import brew, but not really wowing me for the style. Lacking in depth, though certainly interesting.
