Nostalgic in design and taste. More moderate bitter than malty and sweet, yet overall very smooth. A genuine taste!

500ml bottle A year out of date so it was marked down
Cloudy as heck, no head. Smells sorta fruity, with banana and clove. Very refreshing and easy to drink, kinda like an AAL but actually tastes great... heavy yeast, sweet grain, and mild hops

Pours a big fizzy bubbly slight pillowy head with fair retention, a little lacing, slight hazy mostly clear bright golden tan color
Nose lots of grainy sweet pilsner malts, grainy bread dough, a hint of cake batter likely due to yeast suspended, layered soft malts, clean lager, mild floral herbal hops
Taste brings lots more bread dough cereal grains, grainy sweet pilsner malt but not a ton of pilsner more lager malt like, batter, raw cereal, soft lager malts and a clean lager, hops bring lighter bitterness and some floral herbal hop characters, dry finish, clean, malts bring mild layering but not a big decoction like layered effect, suspended yeast brings a little creamy cake batter
Mouth is med to lighter bod, soft creamy lager and suspended yeast notes, medium carb
Overall pretty solid zwickel, good lager, nice soft lager and creamy suspended yeast notes, nice hop balance, enjoyable

Brauerei Zoller-Hof "Zwickel"
on tap at The German Society of Pennsylvania Bierfest 2018
Notes: Typical hazy, soft golden appearance beneath a frothy head of white. Very good head retention and lacing. Aroma of grainy malt and mild herbal hops. The flavor brings in an additional slightly fruity note. Median bitterness lends it great balance leading to a mainly dry finish with just a bit of malt and hop lingering nicely. Medium bodied and soft and smooth across the tongue.

Slightly hazy pale straw color with frothy white head. Aroma has some sweet, grainy wort notes and some floral hops. Taste has bread, wort, slightly sweet, a bit of bakers yeast, some floral hop bitterness on the finish. Medium body with soft carbonation, feels somehow hearty. Nice example of kellerbier, nails the style quite well.

Bottle. This one wasn't my favorite. Wouldn't categorize this as refreshing or crisp. Tasted very yeasty. I could have a few but I prefer a Zwick with a little bit more cleanliness.
