Experience the special combination of rye & rosemary in this malty & spicy Rye Ale. Originally concocted when our family home-brewed, this beeer is uncontested in flavour. Creamy, roasty & herbaceous with notes of raisin and coffee, this wonderful creation is named after our Brewmaster's habit of gardening after dark. Sante' ! -- The Verspecht-Cushing Family

This is my 7th brew from Cuver. And while they are at least 100 times younger than the Belgian Brewing tradition), I'm impressed. Midnight Gardener falls outside the Belgian tradition, but is informed by its emphasis on yeast.
As a first release in a young style distinguished mostly by the spiciness of its grain, Midnight Gardener is a relative triumph. It has a foam that Belgian yeasts are famous to produce. Smells are both malty and rye spicy, but only vaguely introduce the flavours in store for me. And the Tastes are complexed, yet conversely almost simple: rye and other grains are made better by a quality yeast. Much better than medium-mouthed.
I am a recent fan of Cuver and their efforts (many are successful) to bring Belgian brewing tradition to one of California's esteemed wine-growing counties. A Sante' !
