An interesting Tripel on at least two counts.
First, as a Belgo-phile I rarely find a new Belgian micro; despite looking all the time. Hence finding Zeevonk is a chance to learn more about what motivates Belgians. Unfortunately, Zeevonk's website is only starting to develop and does not have an English translation button. And I was surprised how much brain power is required to read Flemish. But I do know that the two founders are named Nils and Tom and they look like they could be brothers... but not me knows. As they mature, they'll get an English button. On that credit, I give them good Overall Hugs.
Second, most tripels have a special spice or a peppery yeast that stands out. Not so with Zeevonk, but it nonetheless is distinctive and worth a try. In a good Looking style, Zeevon's Tripel is slightly above average; nice foam and near amber colour. Smells are subtle, apple fruity and yeasty. Tastes are well-balanced and have a unique, pleasant spicing that finishes semi-dry. Medium-mouthed in a full style for pales. I'd like to try their other offerings before repeating their Tripel.
