Appearance: Pours a deep, clear, amber color that lightens to orange in the light. A moderate white head. SRM of 14. (4.00)
Aroma: Strong aromas of a classic IPA. Orange, grapefruit, and dank pine. Sweet caramelized bread aromas. (4.00)
Flavor: Delicious orange, grapefruit and dank pine. Classic Citrus hops here. A little bitter stonefruit. Some sweet, and slightly dank, caramelized bread flavors. Finishes with a mostly pine, but slight pithy bitter flavors. Bitter, but has a strong malt body to balance. (4.25)
Feel: Medium-bodied, but drinks heavy. Leaves that heavy dank, sweet, bitterness on the palate. (3.75)
Overall: Flavors of a west-coast IPA. Yet, the strong malt body of a midwest IPA. Sort of reminds me of a Two-Hearted, but it leans with more of the classic west-coast flavors. It really hits the spot and is my kind of beer that I like drinking. (Final Rating: 4.13)

Nose has bread, vanilla, floral hops, banana. Bready flavor and medium hops. This is well rounded and has just the right amount of carbonation. Nice Wisco beer.

Picked up a single at my local Stein's Liquor as a part of a build-your-own-sixer. The bottling code states this one is still good for over a month. Poured right from the fridge into a tulip glass.
L: Pours a surprisingly ruddy amber with about an inch of off-white head that sticks around for a little while and settles on a healthy film with several large bubbles marking the surface. As it goes down, it leaves some nice even lacing on the glass. Very clear with lazy visible carbonation present.
S: Grassy, dank, and earthy notes mark the nose on this one. There's an odd but not unpleasant registration of rubber and canvas--think taking a whiff of a new pair of Chuck Taylors--in the mix. Some more delicate floral hop notes present, as well.
T: Bready and cracker malts out of the gates. This is followed by a hearty helping of dank, floral, and fruit hop notes. It's really a pretty nice juicy fruit flavor in the mix--pineapple and melon stand out the most. The middle brings a building bitter, along with more earthy notes. The malts continue to make their presence felt--this one has some good balance. The back end feels a bit more muddled in terms of flavor: there are still those dank, floral, and fruit notes, but there's also a bit of nondescript citrus and resin that comes in. The malts keep exerting their flavor through the close, but the bitter rides things out.
F: This one is one the heavier side of light-bodied and quite drinkable. As it warms, it feels a little too watery, but there is a bit of creaminess there. Some astringency and a nice amount of bitter to close things out.
O: This is the second beer I've tried from Pearl Street. I wasn't too impressed with my first experience, but this one is pretty enjoyable. I like the combination of juicy and dank without resorting to something that tastes like it could have been extracted from a bong. With all the new IPAs on the market, it's perhaps a bit forgettable; but this one definitely delivers in the taste. For people who can find it, I recommend giving this one a try.
