Pint pour on draught at the brewery. Served in a shaker glass. It is an opaque, bright orange with a creamy, milk-white head and very thick, soapy lacing that lasted through the pour. The smell features ripe melon, pineapple, tangerine, lemon, and sweet malt. Its taste is big and bold with pineapple, tangerine, ripe melon, red berry, and lemon with a big dose of pine sap. The Chinook hops add more resin and bitterness and the Idaho 7 contributes a nice earthy base. The flavors blend nicely. This ale has a plush, thick mouth feel with pleasant carbonation, and it doesn't drink like 8.5% ABV. Overall, Philly Hop Bomb is just that: a big, tasty, well-crafted DIPA. An excellent introduction to Farmers & Bankers Brewing.
