Barrel Series 2 Scotch Ale

Poured from bottle into a tulip glass. It is an opaque, mahogany color with a half finger cap of light khaki foam and thin film of lacing. Its nose features roasted malt, raisin, fig, caramel, molasses, and bourbon. The taste includes all of the classic Wee Heavy flavors, including burnt peat, raisin, fig, and molasses. The bourbon barrel notes are initially strong but mellow as the ale breathes and warms. This ale manages to highlight all the flavors I'd expect. The mouth feel is thick and creamy and the 8% ABV gives it good substance without overwhelming. Overall, this is a well made Barrel-Aged Wee Heavy. Farmers & Bankers is to be commended. I hope it is brewed again.
