Weldebräu “No. 1 Premium Pils”
€3,40/,3L vom fass @ Bier Brezel, Heidelberg, DE on 22.09.2021
Look: Crystal clear gold body beneath a full head of white foam. Very good head retention and lacing with wide but thin splashes surrounding the glass.
Smell: Limited aroma. Dull malt with a kind of generic herbal hop.
Taste: Dull malt, slight acidity, and more herbal hops. Firm bitterness with a short dry finish.
Feel: Medium bodied and gently crisp. Soft for a Pilsner; even a southern German version, although that’s clearly not what they’re going for.
Overall: A basic Euro-Pils.

Very clear yellow beer, a smooth taste with a mild bitter after taste. Mild beer flavor. This was a draft and came with 3/4 inch head which did not last long. Continuous CO2 release from the bulk - very pretty effect.

It has a grassy aroma with some mild citrus hop tones. The flavor is mainly grainy and cereal like with some tones of corn. Its appearance was on par for a pils. Thin transparent yellow body with the normal amount of carbonation. There was a pure white two fingers of he and just a little bit of lacing.

Decent pilsener, silky head and nice lacework on the glass.Classic pilsener aromas and taste of hay and grass with mild hoppy bitterness. Most known for the unique bottle...

A- Pours from the unique looking bottle with a thin white head, which quickly evaporates, revealing a mildly carbonated, pale yellow body.
S- Smells of pale malts and corn, kissed with German noble hops. Slightly sweet smelling, with an undertone of huskiness.
T- The pale malts and corn flavors come through as expected along with the huskiness, mild noble hop flavor, and the introduction of a mild (pleasant) DMS. The finish is an brief echo of the characteristics detailed above.
M- A medium body, which is surprisingly big for this style; a mild soft carbonation; and no astringency.
Overall- This is a very drinkable pilsener, one that I would definitely reach for again.

Bought this beer in a getrankemarkt near Heidelberg.
20 x .5 liter uniquely shaped bottles in an open plastic rack.
I was extremely thirsty so I gulped it from the bottle, which has a kind of corkscrew shape.
The smell was citrus and grain.
The taste was a great mixture of grain and noble hops, ending crisply and entirely refreshing.
The carbonation is on the heavy side and welcome.
I could drink this beer on any occasion.
This is a great beer but not the best that I can find in this style at the same price here in Germany.

Poured from the tap to a pils glass the liquid is gold clear and full of great carbonation. The head it tall and thick, lasting quite a while like a whipped cream topping.
The smell is crisp clean hops over a semi sweet white bread malt.
The taste follows, a nice crunchy bread crust followed by a refreshing crisp hop finish.
The mouthfeel is nice, good crisp carbonation and good medium body.
The drinkability is good this is a fine example of a fresh German pils.

A -This bier poured with a nice 1 finger white head with good retention through out the glass. The body had a clear golden appearance.
S- As soon as you open the beer and start pouring your sense of smell is dominated with the strong hops fragrance.
T/M - Crisp, Zesty, refreshing, little after taste
D - Nice clean beer that you can drink at any event.

For a description of this beer I refer you to the BA description of German Pilsner.
It fits it to a tee.
I drank it on another depressingly hot day , with the threat of bushfires still around.
It was a pure delight .Crisp and refreshingly refreshing.(ie good)
The odd thing is that it has nothing particularly remarkable about it. It sort of goes about its beery busy of being very drinkable.Descriptive words failed me.
Not the least of interest is the off set cork screw neck.

I've been resold on this beer. My original review of this beer was such a bad review for the beer that what I've tried recently makes me wonder if I'm drinking the same beer.
Appearance wise this brew has it all. Nice mounds of fluffy white head, with a light gold and clear body.
Aroma qualities are actually hop dominant: lemony Hallertau. There is a slight new mown hay fragrance too.
The taste is also lemony, with a hint of cereal grain. Truly well balanced and not boring at all.
I could drink this beer and never get bored of it. I feel I either misjudged this beer initially, or got a spoiled batch. None the less, I'm sold on this brew!

half liter on tap poured into mug in heidelberg, germany. pours a light golden color with a single finger of tight white head that lasts for a couple minutes.
aroma consists of very subtle sweet malts with a bit of floral yeast mixed in. well proportioned, but could use a bit more character.
taste is of mild pale and munich malts with a floral yeast base. still subtle, but concentrated enough to provide a decent character.
mouthfeel is light bodied, with a lightly creamy texture.
drinkability is good. this is a subtle brew that could use a bit more character. there are much better pils out there.

**My cousin sent this to me from Germany**
Appearance- Poured a golden straw color with a thin white head that disappears quickly.
Smell- Smells like a macro beer with hints of citrus.
Taste- Tastes like a pilsner. Has hints of hops but not much.
Mouthfeel- Light body and very carbonated.
Drinkability- Not too bad. This wasn't the best beer though. I wouldn't drink it on a regular basis.
